Spices are used in small quantities to enhance flavor, hide unwanted flavors, or add color to a dish. They are usually thought to be a root, seed, dried fruit or bark from a plant as opposed to herbs that tend to be the softer portions of the plant. Some great spices to add to applesauce are Ground Cinnamon and Ground Allspice. If you want to go all out apple, make an apple pie using our Apple Pie Spice for a great tasting pie.
